Susan Gottlieb is a painter and a teacher. Her artwork focuses on cross-cultural mythology and symbolism. And her fascination for ancient culture takes her to the ends of the earth. Working in acrylic, graphite, oil and collage, her work is known for a vibrant use of color and texture. Landscapes, figures, still life, and abstractions are translated into evocative symbolic compositions.
Susan shows actively in Central and South Eastern Pennsylvania, Charleston South Carolina, and Colorado. Her work is included in the book, The artists ofSoutheastern Pennsylvania, Speaking for Themselves, by Daphne Landis. She has lived and studied in Rome, Italy and continues to travel extensively. At present, she is teaching for Lancaster Country Day School. She is the resident Art Historian and instructs various studio classes. She actively guest lectures in her own school as well as local universities and institutions.
